I live in Northern Virginia and work in Washington, DC as a cloud infrastructure engineer for a government-adjacent not-for-profit organization in the banking regulatory space. I’ve been a professional in the technology business since 1995 and have held a wide variety of positions in tech management, engineering and operations.
My obession with technology began young. I’m most probably most passionate about networks. Information moving through wires, glass and the thin air is magical to me. I’m equally fascinated by complex systems that operate out there…”in the cloud.”
Don’t ask me about my home network. It’s elaborate. Too elaborate. Probably more elaborate than the one in most businesses with a couple of hundred employees.
I’m interested in the world around me and have what most would consider an unreasonable number of hobbies. I’m a photographer. I’m an amateur radio operator. I’m a maker. (I build IoT devices, mainly, but I’ve built all kinds of things, even my own furniture. ) I’m a runner. I coach youth flag football.
I’ve recently started playing electric guitar. That’s a work in progress.
